What is Temporary Memory of Computer?

RAM Memory is the temporary memory of the computer system. Because RAM is a volatile memory and volatile memory is capable to store data for a very short time, whenever electric power is cut so store all data in volatile memory will be automatically deleted.

Temporary memory is also called primary or cache memory and this memory is a type of computer memory that’s used to store data and instructions that are immediately required by the processor.

It has extremely high speed compared to other types of storage and therefore RAM Memory provides the data much faster to the processor of a computer compared to other memory.

Temporary memory is typically located on the processor itself, though some modern processors have multiple cores and may have separate caches for each core.

Although it is volatile and all content is erased when the power supply to the system is cut off, temporary memory helps significantly increase performance by reducing access time to frequently used programs or computer applications.

It holds recently accessed pages from RAM (random access memory), quickly retrieving this information as needed instead of having to access it directly from RAM which takes longer due to the relatively low speed at which RAM works compared to that of cache.

This reduces system bottlenecks allowing faster processing times for repetitive tasks such as web browsing or multimedia applications like video editing.

It also helps software interfaces communicate quickly with their underlying hardware components such as audio acceleration cards or graphics accelerators thus removing unnecessary input-output delays.

I hope you understand Temporary Memory.
